Ahead of the new academic year Sberbank launched SberKids mobile app, a mobile bank for children aged 6-13 and their parents. The application teaches children to manage their pocket money and helps parents manage child’s expenses.According to the webpage of the bank, SberKids mobile application allows parents to issue a virtual card for their child, transfer money for pocket expenses, see what their child spends money on and set limits for purchases. 04.06.2018 | 14:52 Russian bank launches app to teach children financial literacy Children can pay via mobile phone at shops with the help of Apple Pay, Google Pay and Samsung Pay, receive money from parents, when necessary, drop a hint about a desired present, pay with bonuses, receive presents from partners, save for their dream. Certain limitations exist within the frames of SberKids. In particular, maximal amount of one expense operation and one refill is RUR 15k, while maximal monthly turnover should not exceed RUR 40k. Child won’t be able to transfer money to other people, as well as withdraw cash or pay in foreign shops. The application also has an educational section, where children can find out how to earn, spend and save money, as well as increase skills of financial literacy.
