Against the background of improvement of economic situation in the world, positive signs of enhancing economic activity in the CIS region as well were noticed.

Regular "CIS Macromonitor" report published by the Analytical Department of the Eurasian Development Bank (EDB) reads this.

"In the third quarter, the Armenian economy registered relatively lower results. GDP growth made only 1.4% in annual terms and 2.6% as a result of 9 months of 2013. At the same time, the state of the balance of payments improved which also resulted from the expanding export potential. Net inflow of money transfers grew by 10.6%, the surplus of the financial account dramatically increased at the expense of the successful debut issue of Euro bonds by the Armenian government in September. Though economic activity slowed down, the state budget was worked out with a 1% surplus of GDP", "CIS Macromonitor" notes.
