As of the results of regular "CIS Macromonitor" published by Analytical Department of Eurasian Development Bank (EADB), Armenia's GDP growth slowed down to 3.5% as of the first half-year of 2013. Low foreign demand resulted in formation of almost 0% growth in manufacturing (0.2%) which negatively compensated the maintaining growth in mining industry (10.2%). The situation in the industry was aggravated by decline in energy supply (-12%) and low investment activity entailed abrupt decline in construction (-21.4%).In the second quarter, foreign economic indices of Armenia kept deteriorating which is evidenced by regular reduction of gross international reserves and depreciation of the Armenian dram. However, the economic slowdown didn't affect stability of state finances. State budget revenues grew by 20.4% as of a year while the expenditures grew by 8% as of the first half-year. As a result, the state budget registered a surplus at 1.6% GDP. Total GDP of CIS countries grew by 1.4% as of the second quarter of 2013, which is considerably less than the same index of 2012 (4%) and index of the previous quarter (1.7%). Tweet Views 6409
