Yerevan/Mediamax/. National Hypothec Company (NHC) of Armenia will issue bonds similar to securities of American Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae Companies, Deputy Chairman of Armenian Central Bank (CB) Vache Gabrielyan stated today. “I understand that today these are not the best companies to be mentioned, however we are taking up issue of these securities by quite conservative steps”, Vache Gabrielyan stated, speaking at CIS and Baltic States Bond Congress in Yerevan today. He noted that the government and the Central Bank do everything possible to develop the market of corporate bonds, “the growth of which was frozen as a result of last year’s AMD depreciation”. “Depreciation expectations gradually reduce, the national currency appreciates and over the past 2 months in the currency market the CB mainly fulfills the role of the buyer, trying to reduce the volatility of the currency exchange rate”, Vache Gabrielyan stated, noting that “the current situation evidences revival of the investment potential of Armenia”.
