Yerevan /Mediamax/. “Alex-Grig” LLC, which deals with import of sugar, foodstuffs and which owns “City” supermarket chain, headed the list of 300 top taxpayers of Armenia.

Mediamax reports that in Q1, 2009, the company paid taxes at the total sum of 3bln 550mln 140.4 thousand AMD.

The second and the third places are occupied respectively by “ArmRosGazprom” (3 395 528.8 thousands) and “ArmenTel” (Beeline trademark) (2 849 583.2 thousands).

The list of top ten taxpayers includes also the following companies: “Flash” (2 235 100.7 thousands), “K-Telecom” (VivaCell-MTS trademark) (2 054 708.5 thousands), “GorPetrolService” (1 832 194.5 thousands), “Vidis Distribution” (1 218 755 thousands), “Grand Tobacco” (1 204 246.5 thousands), “International Masis Tabak” (1 081 404.6) and “Electric Networks of Armenia” (1 056 033.6 thousands).

As to the volume of social payments, in the first quarter of 2009 the leading companies are: “Electric Networks of Armenia” (537 133.2 thousands), “Nairit” chemical plant (488 000 thousands) and “ArmRosGazprom” (390 000 thousands). “Alex-Grig” LLC occupied the 43rd place as to the volume of social payments (38 500 thousand AMD).

As to the number of employees, the first place among the taxpayers of Armenia is occupied by “Electric Networks of Armenia” (7561 employees). The second and the third place are occupied respectively by “ArmRosGazprom” (5805 employees) and the “South Caucasus Railroad” (4471 employees). “Alex-Grig” occupies the 35th place as to the number of employees (740).
