Yerevan /Mediamax/. Board of the Central Bank of Armenia reduced today the refinancing rate for 0.25 percentage points, establishing it at the level of 7.00%. As Mediamax was told in the press service of the Central Bank, it was noted at the session that in December, 2008, as compared to November, inflation at the volume of 0.1% was registered, and the inflation index in the course of the year reduced for 1.4 percentage points, making 5.2%. CB Board noted that in December mitigation of external inflationary pressures continued. CB Board believes that despite the existing uncertainty concerning the further external and internal developments, reduction of inflation growth speeds will be continuous. In these conditions, CB Board considers expedient to continue the policy of mitigating monetary-credit terms, contributing to preservation of economic growth speeds in long-term prospect.
