Fly Arna, Armenia's national airline, partnered with COAF Smart Center in the Lori region of Armenia to organize a special visit for local children on International Child Protection Day. The purpose of this initiative was to offer a unique learning opportunity about the aviation industry, allowing the children to interact with aviation professionals and gain insights into the world of pilots and flight attendants.

At the Smart Center, the children had the opportunity not only to listen to the history of the aviation industry and communicate with flight crew members but also to be a flight attendant, wear a uniform and familiarize the passengers with the safety rules during the flight.

“We are honored to partner with COAF Smart Center on International Child Protection Day and contribute to the development and well-being of the children in our community. By showcasing the opportunities within the aviation industry, we hope to inspire and motivate these young individuals to aim high and work towards their aspirations” said Gayane Antonyan, spokesperson of Fly Arna.

Speaking about the importance of such meetings in regional communities, Nana Mardoyan, communications manager at COAF, noted: “SMART Connects or, as we say at COAF, “Smartamej” is one of the educational formats of COAF. It gives the children of SMART the opportunity to communicate with local and international specialists of various fields, to ask the questions they are interested in, to learn about their professional path and experience. Such meetings help our rural children to expand their outlook and inspire them in professional orientation. We believe that all children of Armenia, using their full potential, can change the world around them.”

During the visit, the children had the opportunity to engage in interactive sessions, ask questions, and learn about the skills required to excel in the aviation industry.

Experienced pilots and flight attendants from Fly Arna enthusiastically shared their stories and experiences, offering an in-depth overview of their roles and responsibilities. This unique experience not only broadened the children's horizons but also fostered a sense of empowerment, encouraging them to dream big and pursue their passions.

At the end of the visit, the national carrier announced a competition for children, inviting them to tap into their imagination and artistic skills to draw their own Fly Arna aircraft. The winner, whose painting is deemed the best, will be selected by the end of the month and will be awarded an enticing incentive prize, further encouraging their passion for aviation and fostering their artistic abilities.
