HSBC Bank Armenia CJSC (HSBC Armenia) organised its annual Toy Drive fulfilling the New Year wishes of around 300 children from the Tavush region. Established many years ago, the event has become a tradition for the employees of the bank, who enthusiastically take part in this project ahead of the New Year celebrations.

This initiative became a reality through the collaboration with “SOS Children’s villages” Armenian charity foundation, the beneficiaries of which are families and children facing difficult life circumstances. The employees of HSBC Armenia visited Ijevan bringing New Year cheer to the children from vulnerable families.

Irina Seylanyan, CEO of HSBC Armenia, comments: “During many years of operating in Armenia, community development projects have consistently been a focus for us, and this initiative is a bold example of our commitment in this area. Our employees were excited to prepare the presents that children had asked for in their letters to Santa Claus. It was a touching experience to see their joy as they were unpacking their presents and realise that we managed to bring a little festivity into their lives.”

Since 2007 HSBC employees around the world have been purchasing toys for children from disadvantaged backgrounds and delivering them to the offices of local partner charity organisations as part of HSBC Youth Opportunities Programme.
