Yerevan /Mediamax/. The Armenian Central Bank published the indices of business-atmosphere//, economic activity and consumer confidence for the first quarter of 2008.

As Mediamax was told in the CB press service, in the first quarter the index of business-atmosphere made 50,5, the index of economic activity – 65,6, and the index of consumer confidence - 53,5.

The indices are calculated by means of a survey, which is carried out with the participation of 845 organizations in the sphere of industry, construction and services, as well as among the 1789 households in Yerevan and the regions of the republic.

If the index exceeds the point of 50, it demonstrates positive trend, if the index is below 50, negative trend, 50 - standing state.

The ratio balance of the responses with the corresponding indices of the basis period allow getting the final indices, which, in the first quarter of 2008, as compared to the first quarter of 2007, made 87,4% - the index of business-atmosphere, 92,1% - economic activity, 99,1% - consumer confidence.

In the fourth quarter of 2007, the business-atmosphere index made 46,9, the economic activity – 54,4, the consumer confidence index – 48,6.
