The Investigative Committee of Armenia has released today the “Report on Complex Examination within Criminal Case on Willful Concealing of Information about Pollution of Environment Related to Exploitation of Amulsar Gold Mine”. The document is 220 pages long and comprised of 5 parts and a memorandum. Paragraph 1.0 of the memorandum, titled “Supplemental Mitigation and Contingent Measures”, indicates that “Generally, the design concepts used in the Amulsar ESIA/EIA for development of mitigation measures are reasonable and appropriate”. At the same time, the report urges Lydian to apply supplemental measures to ensure safer operation of the time and provides a list of proposed measures.The Investigative Committee requested the complex ecological, geological, hydrological, geophysical, chemical, construction and engineering examination on 18 March 2018, from the expert group of Advanced Resources Development (ELARD).The group submitted the report to the committee on 7 August 2019.The document was translated from English into Armenia by the corresponding department of the committee.
