Yerevan, November 28 /Mediamax/. The Central Bank of Armenia reminded today that it had worked out new requirements on providing security of the currency exchange points. The requirements will become valid starting from December 25. Mediamax reports that the attack on a currency exchange point “Donka” CJSC in Yerevan on November 22 became an occasion for the reminding. 1,5mln AMD was stolen as a result of the attack. The CB press service recalled that this is the forth case of robbery of exchange points in Yerevan this year and stressed that the need to work out new requirements for the technical security rose because of the very attacks, which have become more frequent. “Such incidents could be avoided, if the exchange points were equipped with stronger means of technical security. According to the new requirements of the CB, in particular, the cash desk of the exchange point should be made of firm materials and armor glass. Besides, the presence of territory, made of the same material is necessary for serving the customers. The door of the exchange point should have an electronic shutter, which would be automatically operated by the exchange point employee”, the statement of the CB press service reads. Tweet Views 10441
