The Intellectual Property Agency of Armenia issued registration certificates for six brands of Georgian wine. “Tsinandali,” Akhasheni,” “Kindzmarauli,” “Khvanchkara,” “Manavi” and “Mukuzani” brands are patented in the territory of Armenia. The National Wine Agency of Georgia was given special rights to them in the territory of Armenia. “Armenia’s decision should only be welcomed. It will give us a chance to protect Georgian wine from falsification and illegal use of brands,” representative of the agency Tsitsia Mamulashvili told Mediamax. According to her, this decision is important and fundamental irrespective of the small import volumes of Georgian wine to Armenia. Last year Georgia exported over 60 million of bottles of wine, out of which around only 7000 were imported to Armenia. Tweet Views 18106
