Yerevan /Mediamax/. Russian State Duma ratified the agreement on Armenia’s Eurasian Economic Union (EEU) membership today.

The deputies passed the decision unanimously, TASS informs. 

Armenia’s EEU membership is an “indicative milestone on the path to EEU establishment”, Chairman of the State Duma Committee on CIS Leonid Slutsky stated.

“Armenia has demonstrated maximum will to proceed along the Eurasian path of development. It’s a historic decision in terms of formation of the entire EEU “architecture””, he said.

“Armenia enters the Eurasian project within the internationally recognized borders”, stressed Leonid Slutsky.

He stated that by the end of December the ratification of the agreement will be discussed at the parliaments of Belarus and Kazakhstan.
