Tinkoff Bank is developing its own payment service, Tinkoff Pay, and the bank has already registered the corresponding trademark, a Tinkoff Bank representative told TASS.

“We have registered to trademarks, “Tinkoff Kassa” («Тинькофф Касса») and Tinkoff Pay. By our estimates, we rank second in the online acquiring market now, and we plan to enhance our work in online payment sphere. That is why we are registering trademarks for new projects we are going to have this year,” he said.



The bank has clarified that “Tinkoff Kassa” brand will operate an online payment system and Tinkoff Pay is to be a payment system that takes under one umbrella various payment tools such as e-wallet with tokens, instant online payment for goods and services, and Tap to Phone technology (payment through NFC and ATMs) among others.

Recently, Yandex announced it planned to launch its own cashless payment service Yandex Pay, which is to be available on Yandex web pages. Users will be able to add bank cards to the service for cashless payment.
