The Open Banking Implementation Entity (OBIE), the body set up by the UK Competition and Markets Authority (CMA), has launched an online app store.

Bloomchain.ru reports that OBIE sets standards for software and the principles of competition management and support in retail banking. It is also tasked with establishing open banking in the UK by creating the conditions for the technology to spread.


OBIE App Store enables companies to select financial products by a range of criteria such as borrowing and budgeting. With the help of the new platform, private users and companies will be able to find tools for open banking, which suit their needs.


The app store is already operating. The tools are sorted for three groups: users, businesses, and technical services. As of the day of this publication, the platform features 58 offers for open banking-related work, such as the app by financial conglomerate Barclays.

With this App Store, OBIE experts plan to increase the awareness among the British market players about the possibilities of work with open banking toolset.
