The bank was established in 1993 as a “North Armenian” shareholding bank. In 1997 it was reorganized as “Converse Bank” CJSC.

License N57 of the Central Bank of the Republic of Armenia.

The bank is the member and the shareholder of the Armenian Stock Exchange, the member of the Union of Banks of Armenia, the member of SWIFT system, the shareholder of “ArtsakhBank” LLC, the shareholder of “Converseincassation” Co LTD, the official agent of the Ministry of Finance and Economy and the Central Bank of Armenia for performing banking operations on Armenia’s short-term bond market, the member of “ARCA” payment system, the principal member of “Visa International” payment system, the only agent disseminating American Express cards in Armenia, the participant of a number of money transfer systems (MIGOM, CONTACT, LEADER, INTEREXPRESS, Blizko, Allure, Золотая Корона).

The bank participates in a number of loan programs: World Bank (“Small and Medium Business Development” project financing / “Agricultural Reforms” project financing), the U.S. Department of Agriculture (“Marketing Support Financing” project), Armenian-German Fund (Small and Medium Business project financing), the International Fund for Agricultural Development - IFAD (development of rural enterprises and small trade).

The bank has 25 branches: 10 - in Yerevan, 15 - in the marzes of Armenia.

The bank has nearly 95 000 customers.

The shareholders of the bank are: "Advanced Global Investments" LLC (President/CEO: Eduardo Eurnekian) – 95%, Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin Catholicosate H.H. Karekin II, Catholicos of All Armenians, Director – 5%.

As of 30 June 2010: total capital - 13 117 396 thousand dram, the assets - 75 045 349 thousand dram, the liabilities - 61 927 953 thousand dram.
