“Byblos Bank Armenia” CJSC is the legal successor of “ITB’ International Trade Bank”. The bank started its activity in RA in 1992. It functions according to RA Central Bank’s license № 72.

In April, 2000, the shares of the bank were acquired by foreign companies which later joined the Makarios Group Holding. In 2007, 100% of the bank shares were acquired by one of the major Lebanese banks “Byblos Bank” S. A. L, which possesses branches in many countries worldwide: France, Belgium, England, Syria, Iraq, Cyprus, Sudan, etc. In 2008, European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and OPEC Fund for International Development (OFID) acquired the following share participations in the authorized capital stock of “Byblos Bank Armenia” CJSC: EBRD – 25%+1 share, OFID – 10%.

The basic mission of the bank is to provide quality and modern banking services to individuals with average income, as well as to medium and big entrepreneurs. In the nearest future, the bank will continue working on expanding the services’ range, offering its consumers improved and more convenient banking products, in particular, in the sphere of retail banking services. Expansion of the branch network also represents a prospective direction for the bank development.

From October 2007 the bank has been participating in the German KfW bank’s program “Stable Development of the Mortgage Market”.

The bank is a member of SWIFT system, "ArCa" payment system.

As of September 30, 2009, the bank serviced 3406 customers: 301 legal entities and 3105 individuals.

As of September 30, 2009, the number of bank’s employees made 84 people.

As of December 31, 2009: total capital - 8 383 313 thousand dram, the assets - 17 589 814 thousand dram, the liabilities - 9 206 501 thousand dram.
